Ok, so usually I think guitar hero type shit is totally gay and lame

But holy fuck
You can play rock band 3 with a real guitar. Granted, it has to be specifically THAT guitar which is a shitty fender squire and it'll probably be balls expensive, but still, that is awesome. If it's under like, 200 bucks I'm totally buying that.

So i guess you are one of those people who say "why would you want to play a fake guitar then a real one?"

There's also the sad game of "gig rise of the six string guitar" which I doubt will sell a single copy

^^^ If anyone wants to check out the sad little game

Fuckin' sweet. I can see this game literally teaching more people how to play a legitimate instrument. That's mindblowing shit.

Maybe, but a guitar hero guitar holds more similarities to a xylophone than it does to a guitar, so I don't know if it'll catch on with the guitar hero regulars or repel them. I think what's most exciting is that for the people who already know how to play guitar it'll be great for practicing.
and if you've ever looked up a tab sheet online you'll know that they're usually riddled with flaws and a lot of the time will completely exclude parts of/the whole entire solo, so it'll be great for learning songs.

Plus you have access to all the backing tracks and the means to easily play along with them in a way that compels you to get better, so assuming the controller works fine, it should be a tool that real guitarists can use to improve, and that is nothing short of fucking awesome.

^Yeah it's quite amazing how everyone thought that the Music Genre had gone as far as it could possibly go and then bam; rock band innovates, while guitar hero milks.

2011 is honestly shaping up to be better than this year gaming wise (which for me is saying something considering Reach alone is a reason for me to prefer 2010.) I'm personally seeing all the cool shakeups to the FPS genre like Bulletstorm, Brink, and great sequels such as Gears of War 3, Crysis 2, and the epic reboot of Spec Ops The Line.

For Shooter fans like me, early 2011 is a paradise to the eyes but a sink to the wallet.

And then there's RAGE.

But getting back on topic I'm wondering what rockband 4 will have? Vilolin? Woodwinds? Synthesizer? (that'd be sweeeeet.)
